This year's HDSI Public Service in Data Science Fellowship was awarded to three Harvard graduate students: Manana Hakobyan (SEAS), Mukund Poddar (HSPH), and Karun Rajesh (HSPH).
Manana Hakobyan, G2 Student
Hakobyan is a G2 Data Science student at the IACS. Her work with DataPoint Armenia includes "identifying misinformation and hate speech from Twitter data during Armenian-Azerbaijani war" (Hakobyan). Hakobyan is also "leading the education workshop committee where we make data science workshops." Other projects that Hakobyan supervises are "medical records classifcation, economic impact analysis in Armenia, and building an Armenian spell check."
